The story began in 1998-99, when due to political and personal reasons I had to make frequent trips to Ranchi. On one such occasion, I met Mr. Sanjay Seth, the former
President of Chotanagpur Chamber of Commerce. It was then the idea of setting up a Chamber of Commerce at Chaibasa first dawned in my mind. When I opened my mind to Mr.
Seth, he introduced me to Mr. Mahesh Poddar, the then President, Chotanagpur Chamber. When I told him about my plans, he convinced me about the feasibility of the idea. He
advised me to form a group of 15-20 local businessmen and collect Rs.500 from each of them as the initial move.
